The other day I caught a bit of that new reality television show about "baby bling." While I find Beyonce's pink swarovski crystal studded bathtub a bit pretentious, I did discover some cool things "Hollywood" is doing during their pregnancies that could have a positive effect if trickled down to the community at large.

I just returned from a fun European vacation. One of the cities I visited was Milan, which is known for supporting the well known Renaissance artist Leonardo Da Vinci during some of his most productive years.

Last night, the Momdoc company got together to watch the new movie "42" about Jackie Robinson as he entered the major leagues. The movie was incredibly inspiring, showing Jackie's strength as he faced and overcame many challenges. While there were many who tried to bring Jackie down, there were others that supported and encouraged him. It was a great reminder of how important it is that we as a community support each other in times of adversity.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to share some baby safe information with several young moms through a program called TOPS (Teen Outreach Pregnancy Services). There was a good turn out, and it was actually a lot of fun.

"This is my first pregnancy so trying to figure out what is normal and isn't. I had a scare the other night and wasn't sure what to do. So I called the office first thing in the morning and talked to a nurse who was very helpful. She made me an appointment to come in that morning. I saw Dr. Freeman and she put all my fears to rest. She went over everything with me and explained the issue. I am so glad I picked Goodman & Partridge for my pregnancy. Thank you for not making me feel like I'm a crazy pregnant lady! :-)"
